Give Me History
Ancient Egypt was one of the most influential civilizations in all of world history. Spanning across 3,000 years, ancient Egypt’s culture, religion and scientific insights forged a mighty civilization and a political force whose power helped shape the region.
At the height of its glory, Ancient Egypt stretched from what is today modern Syria in the Middle East, down deep into the country of northers Sudan in Africa. However, long before it was a mighty empire, Ancient Egypt was a series of city states concentrated along the length of the majestic Nile River. This sweep of water was divided into the kingdoms of Lower and Upper Egypt. It was around the year 3100BC that these two independent kingdoms were united, remaining a stronghold for a thousand years.
